Thinking we may need to talk about this. Please skim the article and come to class tomorrow prepared to tell us what you think. Feel free to comment to this post in the meantime.
From Martin: Through my point of view I see everyone equal. I don’t understand why people have to be disrespectful or racist towards others just because they don’t look the same or have the same color skin. I feel like Trump has influenced a lot of people to be racist towards others just to make them feel bad.
From Fabian: As a Hispanic myself I feel like it is not necessary for so much hatred and racism. We’ve been through enough already and if we were to leave the United States there would be a big difference with the agriculture part. If we leave where would the fruits and vegetable come from without them being harvested by robots and food with a bunch of chemicals. I feel like every single one of us (Mexican Americans ) and supporters should all make a march to get our rights like any other American citizen. Martin Luther king was successful in getting respected, Caesar Chavez gave us better rights, and now it's our turn to rebel against racism and make history.
As I was reading the article, I thought, Was trump bullied himself? Is that why he's spreading this negative energy to this country? Does he love himself to much that he does not know he's hurting others? What so bad about the different races that live here? Does he even listen to what the people in this country have to say? What is going on inside his mind? Why negative, Why now?
So what I read about was basically a bunch of kids being racist towards multiple groups of people. These are kids and I feel like the reason they are this way is because of the people that are around them and things that influence them. Like in the article it talks about how Trump is causing kids to express racism because of what he said, but it's not just them I also blame their parents for teaching them that.
When I read the article, I felt bad. I am a Hispanic who came here from Mexico for a better life, well my parents brought me here for better life. People just think of us as some different species, we are all human with feelings. People really think that saying "Build a Wall" or "Go back to your country" doesn't hurt? These students really don't know how someone must feel. As a Hispanic these things hurt, and I wish these racist things didn't exist. I just feel as if all this hatred is not necessary.
The article I just read was about people's stories about all the hate and violence immigrants have gone through. Many people think it's okay to bash other people that aren't American because Trump says it all the time so why can't they. Whenever Trump goes on T.V it makes his supporters feel like they are on top. So much bullying has been caused by his supporters that lead to many of the victims hurt and scared for their lives.
It looks like teens and minors think it's right to call someone out that doesn't look like them but it's ignorance that has played with their minds in thinking it's right to do so. Also, with the president's behavior more people think it's right to do such thing because Trump is doing it to especially in public and in front of big audiences.
After reading the article, it really upset me because Trump is spreading negative thoughts which is leading to racism towards Hispanics and to different cultures. All Trump is doing is being hateful instead of bringing everyone together and accepting each other. A President should be an example to follow there steps and respect them. I wouldn't call Trump a President because all he's doing is showing what not to be. He doesn't realize his words are hurting others instead of helping.
After skimming the article it seems that Trump is bringing back hatred, racism to Hispanics and other cultures as well. It is very disappointing to see that all of this hatred and racism is growing bigger again and the new generation of children are following the adult ways. We shouldn't let it grow bigger we should teach the younger ones that we are equal the only thing that is different is our looks and race but we are all human beings.

ReplyDeleteIt seems that students discriminate their classmates by their race and get the ideas by adults.

ReplyDeleteI feel like after reading the article that hatred and cruelty is being spread all over because of comments and posts that are being put up online.
