Fall Semester Application Portfolio

Apply yourself.  Get all the education you can, but then, by God, do something.  Don't just stand there, make it happen.
-Lee Iacocca*

So, it's time to think about how you will apply yourself.  Toward higher education, entrepreneurship, the working world, family, and whatever else you imagine your life might look like in the future.

To practice, you will first apply yourself immediately to success in this course.  Your application will be structured as a portfolio and it will include the following elements:

  • Your résumé
  • Your references
  • Your cover letter
  • Your "greatest hits" from your blog (TBA the week before Thanksgiving break)
  • Your "greatest hits" from your journal (TBA the week before Thanksgiving break)
You will present your portfolio in an interview with me in front of your classmates.  Interviews can be stressful, which is why we will work together to prepare you so that you will: (a) successfully make your case as a candidate for the grade you deserve; and (b) create such a memorable experience that you will never fear an interview again.

More details to follow in this space and in our daily practice.
